Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning “union” and Nidra means “dream”. Therefore in Yoga Nidra the mind of the individual, the body and the intellect are in a complete state of relaxation and may even seem to be sleeping, but in reality their consciousness is active and functioning at a higher level deep. In a person’s yoga dream he is taught how to get out of the waking state, go beyond the dream state and even go into deep sleep, but nevertheless stay awake.

Its an Excellent place with great feeling. I went their with my wife. That was a very refreshing location near the ganga beach and waterfalls in foothills of himalaya. For me yoga classes and treatments were absoluetly relaxing. They offer 100 percent organic food. In the evening, they have live Tabla and sitar performance In dinner time which is very serene. Overall had a great time. Must recommended.

I stayed there for 2 months, in first month I did one month long yoga teacher training for 200 hours, it was an excellent experience though at that time i was only one student but i really enjoyed individualized attention on me. After that i was enticed to attend ayurveda practiotioner course, for me as a beginner it was a good experince. Also learnt making ayurveda food, it was fun to bee there. I being there in clean air and great food that initates my body to detox, and it happens naturally.

I did ayurveda retreat for 3 days and again did choose yoga retreat at rishikesh in maa yoga ashram. I had one of the best experiences of my life at maa yoga ashram, learning yoga, getting ayurveda treatments and interacting with other inmates. This place was full of positive energy and Dr amrit Raj was very helpful in help us practise yoga at the ashram.

Amazing tasty organic food, excellent yoga and meditation classes with high standard of teaching. Dr Amrit has a childlike fun character and we've laughed a lot. We feel truly refreshed after a week here. Very simple place but there's a lot of love and care and it feels very safe. Even if you're a woman travelling alone I would recommend this ashram.
